If I set all walls as "full gable wall", I get image 4. If I set the back wall as "full gable wall" and the front wall as "high shed/full gable wall", I get image 3. If I set the back wall as "high shed/full gable wall" and the front wall as "high shed/full gable wall", I get image 2. If I set the back wall to "high shed/full gable wall" (I'm assuming that's correct since it's the highest point of the shed), and the front wall to "full gable wall", I get image 1. The side walls are set as "full gable walls". OK, I changed the ceiling height 2 feet higher but still having problems. They agreed to use my design as their base for drawings so I can save some money and I've been struggling with this for four weeks now. Or is this something that I can't do with my program? I use Home Designer Suite 2018 for Mac - Build 19.3.0.49OSX.Īny advice greatly appreciated as I am supposed to send this to the engineer on Friday. I am not an architect and this is beyond me. I followed all the tutorials, adjusted the roof specs in the wall dialogs and even raised the height of the wall sections that the shed sits on, but it won't raise. I'm stumped as to how to raise this shed section off the gable. The entire shed roof needs to raise high enough that the lowest end sits at 8 feet. Note the shed roof on my design covers an actual house extension, not an open porch. I have attached a photo of a similar roof I am trying to create, plus a screenshot of what I have managed to achieve so far, and a screenshot of the actual plan. However, you can always specify your desired values for the Stem Wall, Floor, and Floor to SWT (Stem Wall Top) fields by accessing the Structure panel within the Room Specification dialog.I am trying to create a shed roof section that is raised over an existing gable roof on one side. With the Auto Rebuild Foundation feature enabled, an area that is specified to have a Room Type of 'Garage' will cause changes to the way the foundation is built under that room. Modifying Garage Floor and Stem Wall Heights. The lower part of the pony wall would consist of the concrete wall with a footing, while the upper part of the pony wall is a framed wall built to the first floor platform. Modeling a crawl space in Home Designer can be easily done by setting the appropriate wall height when you build your foundation, and using terrain features.Ī stepped foundation can be created in Chief Architect using pony walls that have been modified in a section view. Creating a Structure that is Built on Piersīuild a structure on piers by raising it off the terrain and placing cylinders from the library.Modeling a Sloping Terrain for a Walk-out Basementĭaylight basements and walkouts are created by modifying the terrain.Once a terrain perimeter has been created, the first floor footprint and deck can be drawn, a foundation floor level can be added, and deck framing and post footings can be generated. ![]() These steps show you how to accomplish this. ![]() There are times when it is necessary or desirable to delete an entire floor in your plan.
